How to create and use Interprefy Now Rooms in Interprefy Portal

Interprefy Now provides instant, AI-powered two-way Speech Translation and Live Captions for up to 100 participants directly on their smartphones, joining in-person or online.

Overview

Each Interprefy Now Room provides separate access for the Host and participants.

The Host accesses and manages the session using the dedicated Host QR code.

Participants can join by scanning the Guest QR code from the Host's application.
Alternatively, a Static Guest link or QR code can be used when access needs to be shared or printed in advance.

Step-by-Step: Creating an Interprefy Now Room

1. Navigate to Interprefy Now: Select Interprefy Now from the left-hand navigation menu in the Interprefy Portal.
2. Click Create a Room.
3. Configure Room Settings:
   • Room Name*: Enter a descriptive, recognisable title (e.g., Front Desk, Jonathan’s Room, or Sales Meeting).
   • Platform Plan*: Choose the active contract plan from the dropdown list that should be used for this Room's usage.
   • Host Password: Keep Generate password checked to automatically create a secure password or uncheck it to enter a custom password.
4. Create Room: Click the Create Room button to generate your room.

Access Tokens and Joining Methods

Once the Room has been created, the Your Rooms screen displays its details, current usage, and available access options under Access Tokens.

• Host Token: Used by the Host or session moderator to manage the session.
• Host Password & QR Code: The automatically generated or custom password required for host access (the simplest way for Hosts to access their room is via their QR code).
• Static Guest Token & QR Code:
  • A permanent access credential for the room, available as either a link or a QR code. Participants joining via this method will also be asked for a one-time PIN, announced by the Host at the start of the session.
  • Login URL: A direct URL that can be shared with attendees to access the Interprefy Now room.
  • QR Code: A scannable code that can be displayed anywhere. Click Download PNG to save the code for print or digital display.

How can participants join the session

• Scan or Click: Participants simply scan the displayed QR code with a smartphone camera. If it's a static QR code, the app will also ask for the four-digit PIN that the Host shares verbally during the session — this PIN renews each time the Host starts a new session.
• Select Language: Once connected, participants select their preferred language to start listening to AI Speech Translation and reading Captions in real time.
