Can I use Interprefy for in-person events?

Yes, Interprefy RSI works for virtual, online and hybrid events. Learn 2 of the most common scenarios for in-person events where Interprefy is used.

In-person events that add a remote element, like remote interpreters, become hybrid events. In this article, we explain 2 on-site scenarios where remote simultaneous interpretation is used.

Scenario 1: On-site event with in-person attendees and remote interpreters using the traditional IR/FM receivers

Overview

You want to benefit from the efficiencies and cost-savings of using remote interpretation but you prefer the audience to use familiar equipment.

Approach

Interpreters connect to your conference remotely, using the browser-powered Interprefy interpreter soft console. Interpretation is then sent to the room through a set-up consisting of computers and audio interfaces, or our RSI box and connected to the IR/FM transmitter.

Outcome

On-site attendees listen to interpretation using the IR or FM audio transmitters and receivers.

Scenario 2: On-site event with traditional interpreting booths and remote attendees

Overview

You have organised an on-site event but have some participants unable to attend in person and want to allow them to follow the event remotely in the language of their choice.

Approach

Interpreters work on-site from interpreting booths and their interpretation is streamed from the traditional interpretation control unit to the Interprefy platform via some standard IT and audio hardware

Outcome

On-site attendees listen to interpretation using the IR or FM audio transmitters and receivers and remote attendees access the same interpretation via the Interprefy platform on their preferred device.

Please note that these are just 2 examples but the Interprefy platform is easily customizable and can be adapted to the most complex set-ups. Our system is also fully compatible with the Dante network solution.
