Automatic Language Identification

For events with multiple floor languages, Automatic Language Identification accurately recognises the spoken language, ensuring seamless delivery of Interprefy AI

What is Automatic Language Identification?

Automatic Language Identification uses AI-powered technology to detect the spoken floor language in real time. This allows Interprefy AI to work from the correct source language — even in complex event setups.

When can Automatic Language Identification be used?

Automatic Language Identification is available only for events using Interprefy AI solutions without interpreters (RSI). In these events, organisers can choose between:

  • Automatic detection of the spoken language
  • Manual selection by professional services or event hosts

Considerations and Limitations

When planning events with multiple floor languages using Automatic Language Identification, consider the following:

  • Limit of up to 10 floor languages per event.

  • The more floor languages you include—the higher the probability of misrecognitions.

  • Similar-sounding languages increase the likelihood of errors.
  • Accents matter: If a non-native speaker speaks with a distinct accent of their mother tongue that is also a floor language, the system might incorrectly identify the spoken language.

E.g., a native French speaker speaking English with a French accent, while French is also listed as one of the floor languages, speech might be misidentified as speaking French.
